Fixed-price Technical Assessment Understand your problem before you commit a budget

For €390, a senior engineer studies one specific problem, in your system or your project, and gives you a written report: where you stand, what's likely in the way, how we would approach it and what the next stage would cost.

Fixed price · Remote · Paid online · No commitment to continue

When the assessment helps

It's made for the moment you know there's a problem but don't yet know what's behind it or what it involves.

  • A project to price before you launch it or pitch it
  • Software that slows down, crashes or loses data and nobody knows why
  • An architecture or technology choice to settle
  • Systems to connect, with no clear place to start
  • A codebase you've inherited that nobody documented
  • Finding out whether an agent or AI really belongs in your process

What you get

  • A study of your description, your documents and, with the access we agree on, your code or system
  • An assessment of the current situation
  • The constraints, likely causes and risks we identify
  • The engineering approach we recommend, and why
  • A proposed scope for the next stage
  • An estimated budget and delivery approach for that stage

Delivered

  • A written report that's yours to keep and to show anyone you like
  • A video call to walk through it together, if you'd like one

What the assessment doesn't cover

  • One subject per assessment
  • No fixes or development during the assessment
  • The estimate isn't a firm quote: a detailed quote follows if you want to go ahead
  • No full security audit, penetration test or certification
  • No obligation to continue with Codetics

Up to 3 hours of senior engineering, report included. Remote. Codetics reviews your description, confirms the scope of the assessment, agrees with you on the access needed and a delivery date, then gets to work.

How it works

  1. 01

    You order

You describe the problem and pay on Stripe, with no account to create.

  2. 02

    We confirm the scope

Codetics reviews your description and confirms what the assessment will cover. If we can't take on your request, you're refunded in full.

  3. 03

    We study it

Using the documents and access we agree on, within the time set for it.

  4. 04

    You get the report

On the agreed date, with a call to walk through it if you'd like one.

What happens next?

The report is yours whatever you decide. If you want Codetics to take on the next stage, we start from the report to write a detailed quote: deliverables, milestones, timeline, total price.

You can also hand it to someone else, or decide to do nothing. A report that saves you from the wrong project has already done its job.

Order your assessment

No account to create. You pay on Stripe's secure page and get a confirmation by email.

What's happening, what you want to achieve, what's already been tried. Don't include any passwords or access keys.

A URL, a repository reference, the technologies involved.

Frequently asked questions

No. It's there to understand the problem and decide what comes next. If a quick fix turns up along the way, it goes in the report, and doing it is a separate agreement.

No. It's an estimate of budget and approach, designed to help you decide. If you want to continue with Codetics, the detailed quote comes next, in writing.

The delivery date is agreed with you once the scope is confirmed. We don't promise a fixed turnaround in advance, because it depends on the subject and the access.

It depends on the subject: code repository, documents, logs, a test environment, a hosting console. We agree on it after you order. Don't put any passwords in the form.

No. Write to us directly. We'll come back with our questions, then a written proposal. The assessment is an option, never a required step.
